i wear my loneliness like a taffeta dress riding up my thigh
and you cannot help but want me.
you think it’s cruel
how i break your heart, to write a poem.
i think it’s alchemy.
Agnete Hegelund delivers pure pinup glamour, lensed by Pierre Baily Elle UK’sOctober 2011. Anne-Marie Curtis styles ‘The Last Seduction’, which won’t be for Agnete. As a Marilyn reference 50 years after her death, sadly it could be true.
Richard Blanco: Son of Cuban Exiles Chosen As First Latino Inaugural Poet
Here’s what one of them told the New York Times:
“I think he was chosen because his America is very similar to the president’s America,” said Liz Balmaseda, who met Mr. Blanco in the mid-1990s when he was just emerging as a poet, and she was working as a columnist for The Miami Herald. “You don’t have to be an exile, you don’t have to be Latino or gay to get the yearning in Richard’s poetry.”
The White House and the president also released a statement. Notice Obama translated the poet’s last name into English.
“It is an honor to have Richard White in our second inauguration,” Obama said. “His contributions to the fields of poetry and art have paved the way for future generations of writers. Richard’s work is well-suited for an opening that will celebrate the strength and diversity of our great country.”
In 2011, Google partnered with four global brands in an advertising experiment. The goal was simple - how can the ideas that defined the advertising industry in its infancy, inspire a whole new generation of creatives and marketers? They re-imagined and remade their most iconic ad campaigns from the 1960’s and 1970’s with today’s technology, led by the creative legends who made these campaigns. Some people love it, others hate it, but they can’t say they don’t know of it: “Sabado Gigante”, the hit variety show that turns 50 this year.
Only a Hispanic variety show would have its audience participate in a booty-shaking contest: “La Colita,” or a beauty contest called “Miss Pechonalidad” in which participants are judged by their breast size. Only in “Sabado Gigante”.
Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Paulina Rubio all got the start on the show.
The show, which will be shown on Telemundo.com, will feature actors from Spanish-language telenovelas and English-language reality shows in what the network is calling its “first-ever bilingual branded entertainment series.” Mia, the lead character’s name, is also a play on words for the type of female viewer the show is intended to attract—the Modern Independent Achiever. “The MIA essentially is the new Latina…she’s career-driven, she’s very proud, she’s an achiever.”

A GREAT REMIX
Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans Ft. Azealia Banks. I really like the part when Azealia comes in.
Celebrity Hablan (Part 2) - Luis Guzman
I LOVE THIS! Luis Guzman, is an amazing talent and person, glad we have him reppin’ for us in Hollywood. Funniest line of this clip is how he just wanted enough money to avoid mass transit to Orchard Beach!
Disclaimer: The Celebrity Habla series was produced by a good amigo of mine, that is an amazing executive producer over at HBO, Alberto Ferrera — We love you! Shouts to you, mi friend! lol
I walked out of my apartment to pick up a friend from the train station, and caught the all-Spanish Good Friday procession as it was passing my street.
